Hash Bash 2012

The University of Michigan may be a smoke-free campus as of last July, but that didn't mean much on Saturday as the 41st annual Hash Bash kicked off on the Diag, followed with the Monroe Street Fair. Read the story.

The Grass Station

Husband and wife Garth and Leslie Bolgos stand in front of their medical marijuana dispensary at 325 W. Liberty St., just west of downtown Ann Arbor. The business used to be a gas station but now goes by the name Grass Station. But opening for business has been an uphill battle for the mom-and-pop shop with the city pushing back. Read the story.

FestiFools 2012

Mayor John Hieftje was beside himself as Superman ate cookies, a cyborg monkey patrolled the crowd, a wealthy gator flaunted his affluence, and a young wizard did his best to cast spells on unsuspecting fools. Another fun-filled festival of fools went off without a hitch (and with the cooperation of Mother Nature) in downtown Ann Arbor on Sunday. These were some of the faces in the crowd.
