Mural on Main Street

The local artist group known as the Brush Monkeys spent the weekend painting in the intersection of Main and Liberty streets in downtown Ann Arbor, creating a 40-foot-wide radial design featuring a sun and moon, depictions of the lunar cycle, eyes, rainbows and other nature-inspired elements. Inauguration Day

The arrival of a new administration in the White House was welcome news for many people in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, Jan. 20. There were sighs of relief and tears of joy in this liberal college town as President Joe Biden called for civility and unity in his inauguration address and Kamala Harris became the first woman and person of color to be vice president. “Welcome President Biden & VP Harris,” the Michigan Theater marquee lit up downtown. “Democracy has prevailed.” Read the story.
